Yakikami is a Japanese restaurant specialised in Yakitori, that is to say, making BBQ on a charcoal grill with different parts of chicken on skewers. Besides, it also serves high-standard sushi and side and main dishes. Moreover, Yakikami opened its doors a year ago at 150 Toorak Rd, South Yarra and has a rate of 4.5 on Google reviews. In addition, something to highlight this restaurant is the authentic yakitori and all the Japanese food made here because it tastes like in Japan.

Melbourne finally has an Authentic Yakitori Restaurant
It’s true Melbourne finally got the Japanese restaurant that it always had missed. But that ended more than a year ago when Yakikami opened for the first time to bring one of the most delicious Japanese food to this city. In fact, this Japanese restaurant is part of the group Wagyu Ya, which also includes Niku Ou. Moreover, Yakikami is a unique Japanese restaurant because it is rare to find a good and authentic yakitori in this city, but now it is located in South Yarra.
How to make a reservation

Indeed, making a reservation at Yakikami is very easy because it can be done by calling the Japanese restaurant or online. However, I do not suggest coming here to eat Japanese food as walking because Yakikami is already so popular. Hence, it won’t be easy to find a table; besides, it is located on a busy street in South Yarra.
Yakikami Reminds me of Japan
I am passionate about Japanese food, especially Yakitori, because it is hard to find if you don’t live in Japan. However, the opening of Yakikami traditional Japanese food can be found in Melbourne because I tried some of the Michelin star Yakitori restaurants after my last travel to Japan. Therefore, I can assure you that this Japanese restaurant will give you an authentic Japanese experience.
Japanese Food that You Must Try
Personally, I have visited Yakikami twice to experience authentic Japanese food, especially Yakitori, because this Japanese restaurant is so good. Hence, you must order the Chef’s selection of five skewers. After that, if you want to eat more, I suggest Tsukune -Meatball with Parmesan or Egg Yolk, Chicken Tail, and Drumstick Boneless because they are so yummy.
Moreover, If you love sushi like me, Yakikami makes an amazing roll called Neri Toro Sushi, which is very nice. Another dish I have tried in this Japanese restaurant is the Tuna Tartar Sushi, which is also very tasty.
By the way, we always want to start lunch or dinner with a first course, which means the entrée for this reason, I recommend the King Fish Carpaccio, also The Corn and The Asparagus with Yuzu-kosho, Onsen egg, Furikake three of them so good at Yakikami.
