Tachiguizushi Akira is a high-stand-up sushi restaurant because of the excellent seafood quality used to make the best sushi in Shinbashi, Tokyo. Besides, the Japanese restaurant accepts walking only. Therefore, it is necessary to arrive one hour earlier to secure a spot at Tachiguizushi Akira. In addition, the Michelin Guide in Tokyo has awarded this sushi restaurant with Bib Gourmand: good quality, good value cooking.

So good Sushi at Tachiguizushi Akira

To begin with, in Tachiguizushi Akira, you will have an authentic omakase experience where you will try sushi of top quality. In fact, this Japanese restaurant does not have to envy any famous sushi restaurant in Tokyo because the sushi is so good here. So, you should try Sea Urchins, Otoro, and Tuna roll because they were my favourites, lovely, creamy and full of umami.

Location is relevant at Tachiguizushi Akira

Almost any underground or in-the-basement Japanese restaurant in Tokyo will be hard to seek because the sign is always in Japanese. Therefore, if you do not know this language, it will take time to find the place, even if it is in front of you. That was what happened to me with Tachiguizushi Akira. In fact, I took about 20 minutes to get to the sushi restaurant, and if it were not for a woman, I asked who was going to the same place as me. Indeed, it would have taken a longer time to get the address. In short, it will be easier if you know that the Japanese restaurant is in the basement.

If you ask me about my experience at Tachiguizushi Akira. In that case, I will describe it in three words: friendly, fun and delicious because the chef is very nice, even if he speaks Japanese only. However, the waitress speaks English to help translate, so you can still chat with him. Moreover, the capacity of the sushi restaurant is eight people at once. Hence, the service is very intimate, like face-to-face with the chef. Finally, It is a world-class sushi, so you will have one of the best experiences eating Japanese food here.

  1. Have you ever been offered yuzu kosho (aged Japanese citrus pepper paste) for your sushi? It’s an alternative to wasabi. Only one place I’ve been to here offers it and I think it’s amazing on yellowtail.
