Tonka has been one of the Samurai Gourmet’s obsession for a while. Because the Indian restaurant came to his ears with good recommendations for chef friends that it’s a must to come to eat here. Due to, the delicious food what is made in this place.

Perhaps, nobody know but Samurai Gourmet is a busy chef with few time to release his cravings. On the other hand, his great spirit to find good restaurant. To show the world the most delicious place where to eat. Surely, inspires him to go on with this foodie journey.

Therefore, after a long wait, Samurai Gourmet went to visit the restaurant Tonka to try its beautiful Indian cuisine. In fact, during the recent eater, on Sunday, lunch time, I arrived. Certainly, familiar streets where I have been before. Due to, my past dinner at Pastuso Peruvian restaurant and also the Chinese Lee Ho Fook.

Samurai Gourmet at Tonka the Modern Indian Cuisine
After having entered to Tonka, the appreciation of an elegant restaurant was imminent. That is to say, an Indian fine dinning that shows refine flavors of this cuisine. Besides, the open kitchen is display once you get in here.
Kashmiri Murray Cod “Taco”

First of all, this entrée was super delicious but just with one problem. In other words, the “taco” or flat bread was cold and surely I could realize that. Because, in any Indian place where I have eaten or even my Indian friends who made roti of flat bread came warm to the table. In short, it’s super nice but I missed a warm bread.
Mustard Chicken Tikka, Mango Chutney & Cos Lettuce

After that entrée, I ordered one more at Tonka, the Mustard Chicken Tikka and this one was perfect. Due to, the fusion of all ingredients together is beautiful. With a well seasoned chicken, plus the sweet of Mango chutney, the freshness of the cos lettuce, mint and coriander leaves. Surely, it’s created a great dish with an explosion of flavors.
Slow Cooked Pork Cheek, Pickled Fennel & Apple Chutney

Another great dish was the main, very similar sensation as the chicken tikka but with different ingredients for sure. In fact, a super soft Pork cheek, where you don’t need a knife to cut it, plus the sour fennel pickled and the sweet apple chutney. As a result, a so good dish.
Carrot Halwa, Apricot Coulis & Cream Cheese Ice Cream

Although, any dish was delicious at Tonka my favorite was the dessert. That is to say, the nice balance of the flavors and specially carrot halwa, fresh and sweet. Besides, the cream cheese ice cream and the apricot coulis that also help to improve the taste. In short, I could say, is a must to order it, if you are looking for a beautiful dessert.
