Before I came to eat at Bella Brutta, seemed to me a Neapolitan style pizzeria. But in reality, it’s not. Besides, the some cicetti, plus the seven pizzas and few Italian desserts in the menu such as Tiramisu, Cannoli and Panna Cotta. Hence, it’s an Italian restaurant with its own style. Due to, the wood fired pizzas that are made here, are unique. But with some influences. That is to say, the pizza dough is lighter than the Neapolitan style and is crispier. On the other hand, it’s a fact that at Bella Brutta use Italian flavors to make its pies and food. However, these kind of pizzas and dishes, I saw it, in famous restaurants in New York, such as Roberta’s pizza and Pasquale Jones. And, don’t get me wrong, they are not cheating. In fact, these are influences to create their own beautiful Italian food.
Moreover, it does not means that at Bella Brutta was inspired from these places. In other words, I just saying that I saw it before. As a result, I could say this Italian spot is a mix of Neapolitan and New York style, plus the inspiration of the chefs from this restaurant.
The Pie that Samurai Gourmet tried at Bella Brutta
When good food is made in a restaurant, the popularity grows fast. Besides, whether they are making wood fired pizza, not to come to eat it, is a sin. Therefore, Samurai Gourmet had to try the food, what Bella Brutta was making. Because, the awards started to arrive, in the first one was from Time Out Sydney as best new restaurant in 2019.
In fact, I love italian sausages and if it’s chilli on it, even more. That’s why, I got this pizza with salsiccia, pomodoro, fior di latte, chilli, zuni pickle and parmesan. Besides, it looks like as a normal size but it is big, and the best of all, how is so light, you can taste the whole pizza without problem. And perhaps, ordering the second one. In short, a so tasty pie with authentic Italian flavors.
