Although for me it’s the second best Mexican restaurant in Melbourne. But at Hotel Jesus I could taste the most authentic Mexican food. Besides, the interior is inspired by the traditional 70s-style taquerias of Mexico. Moreover, the owners of Mamasita were who opened this venue, more focused in a casual place. To enjoy a couple of tacos, tostadas and a beer.

In addition, at Hotel Jesus there are several dishes that I like such as tacos al pastor of course. And I can’t miss out the quesadillas with salsa verde. A dish that I first tried in Queens, one of the most popular suburb of Mexicans in New York. Besides, that is not all, certainly there are more options to choose here.
The Experience of Samurai Gourmet at Hotel Jesus
In fact, I like to go always with the classics when is about typical food. That’s why my first order was tacos al pastor, then enchiladas and my drink that can’t be another thing than a michelada beer with lemon and salt. Due to, these are authentic Mexican food.
Tacos Al Pastor each 4 AUD
For those who still don’t know about in what consist the famous tacos al pastor, is simple. Indeed, Ingredients such as pork, pineapple, white onion and coriander leaves. By the way, don’t forget the lime to squeeze on the top. As a result, I haven’t been closer to Mexican food after eating these tacos.
Enchiladas Sweet Potato, Tomatillo Salsa & Cream
First of all, a typical enchilada is made with corn tortillas filled with chicken, salsa verde and sour cream. And it was as I ate it in New York. Besides, for sure in a very traditional restaurant, also with a Mexican friend who recommended me this place. In short, it was the best.
On the other hand, enchiladas can be filled with whatever you please. How is in this case that at Hotel Jesus they use sweet potato, tomatillo salsa verde and cream. But it must be sour cream, for a much better Mexican taste.
