Having coming here a couple of times, Tipo 00 has been always a good Italian restaurant. In fact, this place shows a modern cuisine by the chef owner Andreas Papadakis a former worker at Vue De Monde one of the best restaurant in Melbourne.

Besides, Tipo 00 is a very cozy spot with an open kitchen that is featured. Because, the Italian restaurant is not a big place. Therefore, that makes to have a better view of everything, what is happening in the kitchen. Moreover, Tipo 00 has been awarded with One Chef Hat by Good Food Guide. So, it’s a place to visit to eat well.
The best dishes at Tipo 00 by Samurai Gourmet
Certainly, I have tried really good dishes at this restaurant such as Tagliatelle with Rabbit, olives and oregano, besides Risotto carnaroli with Crab, tomato and sheep sorrel. By the way, there are not in the menu anymore. Due to, Tipo 00 is always updating its food, in the kitchen. But, I’m going to explain what you can find in this place right now. And for sure what I ate here.
Focaccia & Ricotta
The first thing that you will get after the menu of course, it’s going to be a small tasty dish of focaccia and ricotta cheese. And don’t worry, because is a gift from the house.
Lingua – grilled ox tongue, balsamic & pink peppercorns
All the good starts end fast that happened to me with this dish at Tipo 00. In short, a tasty ox tongue with Italian balsamic worth it. Plus, I just want to warn you a bit not much for me. Because I love bigger size but is good.
Gnocchi di patate – braised duck, porcini & pecorino pepato
Thanks god, a main dish and I start to talk serious. Due to, the braised duck was sublime a winner dish to fill your stomach with good Italian food.
Tipomisù – chocolate, coffee & mascarpone
Don’t get confuse, I did not write wrong tiramisu. In other words, it’s called tipomisu because is an authentic and unique recipe from the restaurant Tipo 00. Due to, chocolate and mascarpone is not part of a classic tiramisu. However, it does not mean that is bad dessert. As a result, it’s so good.
