KHACHAPURI GEORGIAN FOOD IN SAINT PETERSBURG

Khachapuri is traditional food from Georgia that consist in a bread with a hole in the middle, which is filled it up with cheese, then cooked in the oven and when is ready to be served, it is stir with butter and a raw egg. That is to say, the origin of khachapuri is from Georgia, but was widespread to Russia where is so popular.

On the other hand, khachapuri is part of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Georgia and currently they are working on the UNESCO to proclaim as an tradition Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

KHACHAPURI GEORGIAN FOOD IN SAINT PETERSBURG

In Russia, specifically in the city of Saint Petersburg is where I ate for the first time khachapuri. Usually, it is found in restaurants, although, also in places such as bakeries.

In this Georgian restaurant is where I tried khachapuri, besides of other typical dishes from Georgia. In fact, it was one of the most delicious food that I ate in Saint Petersburg. Duo to, the hot bread with the melted cheese, then mixed with butter and a raw egg. Consequently cooking the egg making like scramble on the bread.

Certainly, khachapuri is the food that you must try in Saint Petersburg. In other words, I ranked as the second food that you must eat here after of the russian donuts which is the number one. As a result, it is so tasty.

Where to eat this delicious bread?

Although, you can find too many places to eat Khachapuri but my experience was at Пхали-Хинкали, by the way, they have around 10 restaurants in the city.
